While some will be breathing a huge sigh of relief and getting the bottle of wine chilled for tonight, others will be considering the physical, mental and financial benefits reaped.

If you have achieved this month-long accomplishment, you may be contemplating how to transform it into a sustainable life choice. After all, being alcohol-free isn’t just for January if you don’t want it to be.

Beyond the initial 31 days, the journey towards a healthier, alcohol-free lifestyle is a continuous process. Dr Louise Slaney, Medical Director at IMM, outlines her recommendations for making this a more permanent life change.
