Global health services provider International Medical Management opens UK clinic in Aberdeen

HEALTHCARE and emergency medical support specialist International Medical Management (IMM) has invested £200,000 in the establishment of its first UK clinic in Aberdeen, creating nine new jobs as it expands its global footprint.

The city-centre facility, at Alliance House, Bon Accord Square is led by highly experienced senior occupational health physician Dr Elizabeth Wright and nurse manager Pauline Ganley. Their team includes two further doctors and two nurses, and three administration staff.

At Alliance House, IMM offers offshore medical services, corporate health and wellbeing sessions, and travel medicine healthcare consultancy to its clients. The clinic has four consulting rooms as well as reception and administration facilities.

IMM has operated internationally for the last ten years supporting clients such as major energy sector companies including Acergy, Entrepose, Premier Oil, Sonacergy, Trinity International Services and Petronas delivered by 13 doctors and four paramedics, assisted by two administrative staff.

Dr Jean Francois Foucher, director of IMM, said: “There has long been a need for additional corporate medical care provision in Aberdeen, to increase the resource available to the energy sector, public and private sector organisations.

“Establishing our UK headquarters in the oil capital of Europe allows us to deliver support to existing Aberdeen based clients with the potential to open a second clinic in Aberdeen a key part of our growth plan.
“Our service is focussed on offering modern, innovative support to our clients, based on the latest standards in global healthcare.

“Securing Dr Elizabeth Wright as our principal physician reassures our clients that we have considerable experience and offers them the highest standard of care, with particular expertise in consulting to the oil and gas industry as well as major private sector organisations.”

Dr Wright has a wealth of experience across the local authority, postal, utilities, emergency services, higher education, food industry, paper industry, engineering and manufacturing sectors, in addition to oil and gas.
She is a former medical director to one of the energy sector’s major healthcare providers, from 2003-2011 before establishing her own consultancy.

Dr Wright is a Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians, London, and Chartered Member of the Institute of Safety and Health (IOSH). She qualified MBChB from the University of Glasgow in 1980, and MSc in Occupational Health at the University of Aberdeen in 1994.

IMM was founded in 2004 to deliver emergency medical services; occupational health services; environmental health services; hygiene, health and safety training; medical and environmental audits.
