Placement Student 2024/25

A change of career aspirations has turned out perfectly for IMM’s new placement student, Megan Wortman.

IMM is delighted to welcome Megan to the team, reiterating our commitment to the development of upcoming talent and support of students on their professional journey.

While at Aberdeen’s Robert Gordon University, Megan decided to swap nursing for business, realising her interests lay more in healthcare logistics than on the frontline.

Megan, who is originally from the Black Isle in the Highlands, is now in the third year of a BA (Hons) Business with Marketing degree and began her year-long IMM placement on June 10 as a Business Development Executive.

Megan (21) said: “I’m so delighted to be at IMM and in such a varied role. I work with so many different departments, which is amazing for my business experience.

“I started doing a nursing degree but quickly knew it just wasn’t for me. But the healthcare side still interested me, which is what makes this opportunity at IMM so perfect. Working in occupational health and preventative health is great experience for me.

“Day to day it’s so different – from writing offshore medic contracts to booking training for medics, checking availability for offshore vacancies, to assisting at the flu clinic proposals and attending networking events – I’m learning so much and everyone at IMM has been so welcoming and willing to share their expertise.”

Ashleigh McDonald, General Manager at IMM, said “Megan is a great addition to the team. She has joined at an extremely busy time for IMM and has adapted really well to the changing priorities. She’s already proving to be a great support to our business development and offshore logistics teams. We look forward to watching her flourish throughout the duration of her placement.”

IMM group companies have a long-standing track record of supporting upcoming talent having taken on placement students from Robert Gordon University and Paris School of Business since 1992.
